物書きや出版社にとってまずは高いリテラシーを持った読者層を、いかに形成するかがすべてのスタートなんです。
どんな人もまず無償の読者として出発し、長い時間、場合によっては20年以上をかけて有償の読者に変化します。カネを払わずに本を読み続ける行為を通してリテラシーを形成し、その後にはじめてカネを出して本を買うという行為が始まるわけです。
出版メディアは、そのプロセスにこそ投資をしなくてはいけません。いまの日本の出版危機というのは、その読者層の形成に対して、十分に配慮してこなかった結果なのではないでしょうか。
