MacBook Proの新デザインに詳しい人物が「Apple Insider」サイトに語ったところによると、光学ドライブと昔ながらのハードディスク・ドライブはどちらも排除される予定だという。

　これらの代わりにSSD（Solid-State Drive）が搭載されるため、次世代MacBook Proは今までよりも薄く、かつ可動部品数も減ることになる。すなわち、“壊れにくい”“丈夫”なMacBookが誕生するというわけだ。
